The Overseas territories at the forefront of energy transition
The Energy Transition for Green Growth Act requires the Overseas territories to attain 100% renewable energy by 2030. The initial stage has been set for 2020, date by which the French Overseas Departments must attain 50% renewable energy in their energy mix. It will then be necessary to overcome the great disparities that currently exist between these various territories: Guyana for instance operates with 62% renewable energy whereas Martinique only 7%.
