With 40,000 deaths per annum in France, the quality of the air is a vital issue affecting not only public health, the economy and politics, but it is also becoming a matter of greater and greater concern for society as a whole. Most of the activities that produce pollution are associated with energy consumption. Improving the quality of the air and reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy transition are thus closely linked.
